It's that time of year, when families trot out their favorite holiday movies for marathons and viewing parties. But beyond the festive family-friendly plots is something you might not have noticed — some pretty impressive properties.

Who wouldn't want to live in a stately brick manse like the one from Home Alone?

Actually making that dream a reality would cost a pretty penny though, according to Trulia. The 6-bedroom, 3.5 bath Chicago-area home that appeared in the Macauley Culkin classic would set you back $1.6 million to be exact. And that doesn't even cover the cost of the booby traps you would need to fend off the neighborhood bad guys.

Similarly, the 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom apartment that Buddy's biological father calls home in Elf would sell for about $2.9 million today.

Luckily though, not all holiday movie homes are worth millions, and one of the most famous abodes of all, Ralphie's house from A Christmas Story, would only cost about $50,000. The 4-bedroom home in Cleveland, Ohio is not currently for sale, sadly, but it is a museum open to the public, so visit away.
